Fair Work Information Statement - last update, January 2024

All employers covered by the Fair Work Act 2009 are required to give new employees a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement. The Statement provides basic information on matters that will affect employment.

Fixed Term Contract Information Statement - last update, December 2023

Employers must give every employee engaged on a new fixed term or maximum term contract a copy of the Fixed Term Contract Information Statement when they enter into the contract. Fixed or maximum term contracts are those that terminates at the end of a set period (eg, the contract ends after a set date, time period or a season).

Casual Employment Information Statement - last update, November 2022

Employers are required to give every new casual employee a Casual Employment Information Statement (CEIS) before, or as soon as possible after, they start their new job. The CEIS provides details on the pathway for casual employees to move to permanent employment.

Choice of Superannuation Fund - Standard Choice Form

Employers need to provide employees with the standard choice form so they can advise their chosen fund. Employers also need to nominate a default fund that contributions will be paid to if employees don't choose a fund.

The Australian Privacy Principles

From 12 March 2014, the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) will replace the National Privacy Principles and Information Privacy Principles and will apply to organisations, and Australian Government (and Norfolk Island Government) agencies. This privacy fact sheet provides the text of the 13 APPs from Schedule 1 of the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012, which amends the Privacy Act 1988.

NSW WorkCover "If you get injured at work" Poster

This poster replaces the previous well-known ' Watching out for you' poster and summarises the requirements of the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998 with regard to notifying injuries and making claims. 

This poster must be displayed in every workplace in New South Wales.

Small Business Fair Dismissal Code and Checklist

There are special unfair dismissal arrangements that apply to small businesses. These arrangements simplify the dismissal process for small businesses.

The Small Business Fair Dismissal Code Checklist (the Checklist) has been developed to help small business employers comply with the Code. This tool will assist employers to follow the Code’s procedural elements when dismissing an employee and understand when the Code applies. The Checklist should be read in conjunction with the Code.

Register of Injuries

NSW employers must keep a register of injuries to record workplace injuries or illnesses sustained by workers regardless of whether there has been a claim.

The register of injuries must include key information. NSW Workcover provides a template for this.
