A member of the public alerted Worksafe to unsafe activity.

A Plumbing company in Victoria has been fined $25,000 after its employees were seen working on a roof without fall protection.

A Melbourne Magistrate heard that the height of the roof varied between 2.0 and 3.2 metres, and that the employer was aware that a worker had fallen to his death from the same roof two months earlier.

The company was fined $25,000 and costs of $4,700 after the employer pleaded guilty to charges under the OH&S Act.
